8-week Intro to Scentwork Class

Service Description

Let's start from scratch, from markers and building value to the odour to finding the odour in any place and any situation. This class is perfect for complete beginners, dogs and humans alike, in fact it is better for the dogs if they've had no previous training in any discipline as we want to work with the dogs in the most natural way as possible to ensure success! This class will focus on KONG as the starting odour for training foundational skills in scentwork and is tailored so that each team (handler and dog) can progress further and take part in Odour Recognition Trials with the National Nosework Association and, who knows what scentwork superstar you have in your house, turn into a detection dog! The class will cover: - specific markers for scentwork training - odour imprinting - indication and building value for indication and odour - line ups - from easy to complex with various items - start cue - start routine - practice for ORTs The price includes a scentwork starter kit (to take home with you and practice) so all you have to do is focus on working with your dog ;)
